Those of us who love and support Holly Jackson have decided to start this fund to begin a true healing process for Holly that is long overdue.
Holly is an amazing, talented, artistic young girl who has had a very difficult life. She suffers from a G.I. ailment that has been repeatedly misdiagnosed and continues to remain undiagnosed. She has had to undergo repeated abdominal surgeries that have discovered or corrected nothing, but left her with masses of scar tissue that have only worsened her original problem. She has spent month after month in hospital with no answers, no relief and no help. Top medical specialists have told her that she can expect a lifetime of these surgeries, hospitalizations and intense pain.
Instead of offering additional help to ease or cope with her pain, they started prescribing pain killers. As most of us are aware, these short-term relievers can cause serious long-term use which leads to addiction, along with a string of side-effects that can and have, worsened her original condition.
After struggling with this most of her young life, the pain, addiction and lack of hope wore on Holly both mentally, and physically, as it would any of us. She had recently made a conscious decision to end her life, rather than continue in this world with almost zero quality of life.
Of course we who love her, and even Holly herself, desperately searched for another answer. Help in any form that could make a difference. Caring, compassionate suggestions and solutions to her long struggle with pain. We desperately searched for a reason for her to want to live...and one came!
In past, while the Canadian Healthcare system was in the process of a long string of failures and let-down's, Holly had found some relief through natural and holistic healing. Unfortunately, with limited funds coming in through her Ontario Disability Support Program entitlement, this was in no way a viable option. We want this fund to change all that!
We already have a great beginning thanks to natural healer Nancy Browman. Holly is familiar with and has taken part in Nancy's treatments in past and had very positive results! Nancy has generously offered to start seeing Holly at no charge! You can find more information on Nancy's services at http://www.earthschool.ca.
While this is a wonderful start, it's only a first step! Holly will need extensive additional treatment in the field of naturopathic and holistic healing. There will be many trips to Perth, Ontario required to take advantage of Nancy’s wonderful offer. We are also looking to begin other natural treatments, all of which come with a cost. In addition, Holly now has a mental health advocate who will also be helping with her healing process and ensuring she receives any and all professional medical care required.
