Holly's ABE Service Trip

Hi everyone!
I am going on a service trip to San Francisco, California over my spring break this year (March 3-11) with Alternative Break Experience through CSB Campus Ministry. We will be working with a local grassroots organization there called Faithful Fools to aid in any way we can.
In the past, participants have helped at food shelves, soup kitchens, and after school programs with children who didn't have any place else to go. We aren't really sure what we will be doing as the plan is to show up and go where they tell us!
This will be an amazing immerison experience and I am hoping to cultivate my personal definition of "social justice". I am really looking forward to just talking with the populations there and seeing how life is either similar or different from home. I want to hear their stories, learn about their lives, and ultimately learn something from them.
My goal is to learn something profound enough that I can take it home and apply it to my life back here, in Minnesota. I want to teach others about the varying cultures within the US, but first I must learn of them myself. Going on this trip is very important to me as service is a large aspect of my life.
