Checkmate, Cancer & Friends are inviting you to spread the holiday warmth by donating a toy or gift to a child on the Pediatric Oncology floor @ the NYU Tisch Hospital & the Hassenfeld Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders.
Our team will be buying and collecting toys to give out during the holiday break this coming December. If you are unable to buy a toy, please donate to this great project and our team will buy a toy for a child on your behalf.
Many children will be spending their holidays at the hospital undergoing routine treatment and others will have to come in for mandatory visits. With your help, we will be there to put a smile on each face there !
So lets do something nice for them just because 1. we can, and 2. because it really doesn't require a lot of effort to make someone's holiday a little warmer.
Any dollar amount you donate will be used towards purchasing a gift for a Cancer patient as young as a baby to 21 years old. We will also have dessert catered for the entire floor of staff who will be working the holiday shifts, and the patients' families who are spending their holidays at the hospital.
If you would like to request a specific toy please do so in the comment box with your donation. In addition, if you would like to write a message to one of the patients please do so in the comment box (or message us) & we will include a beautiful hand written card on your behalf.
