gettin this film off the ground

Hey y'all! As you may or may not know, I am gearing up for the most intimate film project I've ever directed.  I will conduct conversations one-on-one with Queer and Trans/Gender non-conforming Black people about their experiences growing up in Boston. This project is about self-seeing as a revolutionary act and will  chronicle our lived experiences while existing and surviving in Boston at the intersections of race, class, gender, and sexuality.
While practicing storytelling as resilience for Black communities, City Limits  will also serve as an archive of the some of the history and experiences of Black queer communities in Boston for and by us.

As a Creative Writing and Film student at Hampshire College, my goals have been to:
1. research and study femme/queer/trans existence during American slaveries (ie: Trans-Atlantic, Prison Industrial Complex)

2. pinpoint underlying themes and methods of survival and resistance during the different time periods

3.  finalize what Black femme liberation is and what it looks like within the confines of the State

Funds received from this campaign will go toward travel costs and production equipment and services. Please assist me in completing my college thesis and continuing this life project after I receive my bachelors in May 2020.

Thank you
