Death Race and beyond - A Journey

As many of you know I have committed to participate in and was one of less then 15% that finish the 2012 Spartan Death Race (http://www.youmaydie.com/about/) this  pastJune. I stepped away from the my known world of racing to try something new and push my limits. It is hard to let go of what you know and try something very different that you may not succeed at.  After Death Race in 2012 I also successfully took on The Ultimate Suck & North Face 50 Miler and as well as World's Toughest Mudder and GoRuck Selection not as successfully.  In 2013 as I continue my journey I will continue to raise money for LSF and continue to do what I can to give back to those that inspire  and motivate me.

So Why Death Race ?

As you may know I have connections to many members of our military past and present.  Our country's warriors are my motivation and inspiration to compete in and finish Death Race.  I have been blessed to count some of these warriors or tactical athletes as friends. These tactical athletes often achieve things that seem almost super human or at least something we deem outside our own realm of possibility and limits.  However from knowing these amazing tactical athletes what sets them apart from us every day mortals is not some amazing physical gift.  Yes they are super fit, but it is a mental fortitude. They do not have the same per-conceived limits of what they are capable of or what they can achieve that many of us carry.  They have a confidence and know they can achieve anything if they want it bad enough and they just don't quit.   I want to find out if I have this mental fortitude.  I want to find out if I have what it takes to achieve outside of my own personal preconceived limits.

Giving Back - Raising money for Lone Survivor Foundation

In all my years racing I've never before raised money for any charity.  I believe people should and do donate to the charities that are closest to their own heart. I know people do it to raise awareness for a cause, but I've never been one comfortable asking people to donate money. However Death Race is not just another race and I wanted to do something to give back to the warriors that inspire me.  As part of my Death Race journey I am raising money for the Lone Survivor Foundation.  With their motto "Never Quit", which comes from the US Navy SEALs creed, and their mission to help wounded warriors and their families they are the perfect choice.  Please help me give back to our warriors that have sacrificed, so much to protect our freedoms and inspire me and many others to reach new limits in our own lives.  Thank you!

His experience serves as the catalyst for the formation of the Foundation and his vision to give back to those who serve.
