Our Father’s Last Wish: In His Words
Bob Wollman passed away on 11/18. It breaks my heart I couldn’t give him his last wish. Thank you to everyone who contributed. You are angels. Contributions are welcome to help pay for his final expenses and medical bills.
God Bless our Dad. Proud Korean War Vet. Rest In Peace.
I’m Bob Wollman. I’m 85 years old and I am currently in hospice. It is my wish that I can go back to my home and live there the rest of my life with my family and beloved dog Pumpkin. I am a Korean Vet, Father, Grandfather, Brother and Friend. My children, Steven Wollman and Stacy Wollman Wojtowitz are unable to financially support this wish due to the costs of all the medical expenses from my current illnesses and my wife’s Illness before she passed away in 2016. My son who has been my caretaker for the past two years is now suffering paralysis from a back injury, can’t walk and can no longer take care of me on his own. He is having surgery on his neck in November and then his lower back. My daughter lives in Las Vegas and cares for her disabled husband and cannot come back to New York at this time.
i am suffering from Parkinson’s Diisease and Terminal Cancer. Although my diagnosis is grim I am still strong enough and aware of everything. I want to go home and be with my loved ones but the homecare costs and medical equipment are beyond what my family can afford. I need 24 hour care.
I was transferred into hospice after I was removed from a nursing home where I sought help to deal with my Parkinson’s disease. At the home, I was abused and neglected. I was nearly dead and not expected to live. My son removed me and sent me to a hospital where I found out I had terminal cancer with 6 months to live. I am a nursing home abuse survivor and grateful I am still on this earth. I hope and pray to God I am able to go home. There is nothing like the warmth of peace of your surroundings and being around the people and things you love. I hope with your help I can fulfill my last wish and dream.
