Scott Smoot Memorial Fund

Scott Smoot was a talented teacher and coach, a devout runner, a fun-loving soul, and a worthy friend.  He was kind.  He was generous.  He was silly.  He knew how to rock a bow-tie and was an unapologetic super hero enthusiast.  But above all else, Scott was a true family man.  He was madly in love with his wife of seven years and fellow Sugarloaf School teacher, Blake (Freer), and whole-heartedly devoted to their precious babies, Anderson (2), and Laurel (6 months).  His love for them was evident each and every day.

Tragically and unexpectedly, Scott was taken from his family, his friends, his students, and his community far too soon at the young age of 36.  While he had so much left to give, he lived his short life with gusto.  He and Blake celebrated every blessing and shared their beautiful life with many family members and friends in the Florida Keys, Michigan, Missouri, South Carolina, Nevada, and many places in between.

Scott had hopes and dreams for his future with Blake and their children.  While he provided enough love to last an eternity, the bitter reality is that he will no longer be there to financially support his family.  Please help Blake, Anderson, and Laurel through this very sad and uncertain time by donating to the Scott Smoot Memorial Fund.  All donations will go to the Smoot family to cover funeral expenses and provide much-needed financial support to this young family during the next stage in their lives.

Thanks to all who have supported the Smoot family with generous love, prayers, and donations.
