Help Danielle fight cancer

Our dear friend Danielle Bowerbank has recently been diagnosed with an aggressive form of metastatic breast cancer. After further testing, it was also discovered that this cancer has spread to lymph nodes and possibly to her liver. Facing cancer is tough enough on its own, but Danielle is a new mother with two young boys. Finn is 2 and Miles is going on 6 months and is still breastfeeding, which she won’t be able to continue with her treatment. She has already started chemotherapy and she faces 14 months of treatment followed by a mastectomy and possibly more chemo.

Danielle and her partner Ryan are both income earners for the family but given her diagnosis, she'll be unable to continue working, stripping her household of half its income. Ryan will also be taking a week off a month to help with everything. Your donation would go towards day to day expenses such as formula, medication, and childcare as well as help provide a little padding for bigger household expenses like rent. Already, drug costs not covered by MSP are $150/week and formula for Miles is $100/week. That alone adds up to $13,000 for a year. As for childcare, when Danielle has her mastectomy, she won’t be able to lift either of her boys for 6 weeks. She will need assistance with their care.

Danielle is one of the toughest people we know and she will fight (and win!) this battle with cancer. But she will need help from her friends and family. We’re asking for help so she and her family can focus on beating her cancer and not stress about finances.
