Hero's arm repair, Portland OR

...And was also a victim of horrible surgical malpractice.

My friend Chris, a guy who largely keeps to himself, was brutally stabbed and sliced open while calmly defending a female employee at a market on SW Broadway at 8PM on a Thursday night last month. His scalp, arm and back were all hit. Particularly his arm. He is alive, but suffered horrendous malpractice in the trauma unit, where he was for two weeks. The nurse took the staples out much too early.

The photos of the current wound are too awful to post. The entire length of the 22-inch wound up his arm has completely re-opened, and the bicep is bulging out. He also got a blood infection from this. The skin on both sides has now healed apart, and I imagine he's going to need a major skin graft to fix it, if he doesn't die first. 

His thanks for defending a vulnerable clerk in the U.S. is a mountain of hospital bills and a horror show of a gaping war wound. His parents are tapped out of money now, and he is mentally on the edge. 

He can't work, so money would help him a lot. He does have lawyers for the criminal case. The suspect is known but not yet found. 

Help my buddy get back on his feet. Anything helps, even small bits of solidarity. I'm sure he feels forgotten about. If he can keep his spirits up and pay some bills, he has the mental capacity to pull out of this nightmare. His bills are much more than this, but I'm starting off with a feasible amount of $3K.
