Herberts Teeth Cleaning

Donation protected
Hi,

This is Herbert! I adopted him when he was 3, and he is about to have his 8th birthday (Sept 8th).

When I met Herbert, he was obese and on a diet. He lost weight but has never been a thin guy, and once he got older he was diagnosed with diabetes.

Good news! Herbert is not on insulin at the moment. Because I have put him on a special low carb diet, he has gone into remission. However, there are certain other health concerns that have been a result of his diabetes, such as plaque and tartar buildup on his teeth. Any tooth or gum disease/infection can result in his diabetes coming out of remission.

Up until now, I have been able to pay for all of the insulin, syringes, glucose monitoring, special food and monthly vet visits. But the next step is to get his teeth cleaned, and the bill is bigger than my pockets after all of the other vet bills.

The teeth cleaning will be a total of 16 items, totalling between $824 and $929. Luckily the vet now knows me so well that I think they are willing to reduce those numbers to between $674 and $762, assuming of course the estimate of items is correct and everything goes as planned. I'm very nervous for him to be put under anaesthetic!

I haven't made the appointment yet, but I plan to when I scrape together half of the funds and can put the rest on credit.

Anything would help Herbert in his quest to become a healthy cat again :)
