Herb Baker Scholarship

Dear Friend,
As you know, Dr. Herb Baker--my father--was a special man: as a USIU/Alliant graduate, program director and faculty member of Organizational Psychology at Alliant, as a U.S. Marine, as a mentor to many, and as a father.
As a tribute to Dr. Baker after his passing in 2010, the Herbert Baker Organizational Psychology Scholarship was founded. This important scholarship is awarded every fall to an Organizational Psychology student based on merit and commitment to the ideals exemplified by Dr. Baker.
In order to memorialize Herb’s scholarship for future generations of students, we have decided to establish a permanent endowment fund. But we need your assistance.
As Herb's daughter, I've partnered with the new Alliant Educational Foundation to offer a dollar-for-dollar match up to $10,000 to establish the permanent endowment at a total of $20,000. Each of us has committed to $5,000 for this matching drive and we’d like to invite you to join us!
When we reach the goal of $20,000 for the fund, it will generate an annual scholarship for a worthy and talented student at $1,000 per year each fall. I've agreed to join the review committee to help select the student each year as well.
Additionally, the Alliant Educational Foundation was created in 2015 and represents a solid commitment to philanthropy on behalf of Alliant International University. As a tax-exempt 501(c)3 non-profit organization, it holds itself to the highest standards and pledges to support donors, Alliant’s many deserving students, and the talented faculty and staff so that it can accomplish more by working together.
