Herb Peppard Park Memorial
Donation protected
Herb Peppard - beloved war hero and Truro's favorite son passed away on June 12th at the age of 98.
Herb was a decorated war veteran, author, community minded citizen and a hero to his country and his family. His achievements are numerous.
The Herb Peppard Park was created on Alice Street in Truro, Nova Scotia across from the home Herb was born in nearly 99 years ago. The Park dedication was July 16, 2016.
Of all the accolades Herb received during his lifetime he said having the Park named after him meant the most.
With Herb's passing the Park is his legacy. Right up until his death, Herb was excited about fund raising efforts for a new fence where the children play and the vision of lilac bushes, the flowers he gave to his beloved wife Greta each anniversary. Herb cared about his community, the citizens and was proud to call Truro his home.
We want the Park to be as special as Herb. Four new benches and a new commemorative board will adorn the Park in July. all through fund raising efforts.
Our goal is to raise $20,000 for a fence for the Park where children play, two archways with his name and his beloved lilac bushes that encompass 150 feet.
Herb Peppard - gone but never forgotten.
