Henry's Peru Expedition 2021

Hi everyone, my name is Henry and I live in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire. I am raising money to enable me to go on a four week expedition to Peru in 2021. This will be the trip of a lifetime and will allow me to see and experience a completely different way of life.
I will be 15 years old when the expedition takes place. Over the next two years I will be doing loads of work in my local community, helping people, to raise the funds to do this.
This amazing trip is organised by Outlook Expeditions, together with my school, Holmfirth High. I will be travelling with a group of friends, teachers and experienced guides.
Why do I want to go on this expedition?
Well firstly, it will give me the opportunity of independent travel that kids my age rarely get to experience, and I will develop the core life skills to do this. We will trek into one of the world’s most biologically diverse areas, the Tambopata Nature Reserve, which is an extraordinary tropical rainforest location between Cuzco and Bolivia. We will get to observe loads of rare wildlife species in their natural habitats.
A real highlight will be the chance visit the ancient Andean city of Cuzco. From there we will get to walk the Salkantay Trail, described as one the top 25 trails in the world, high into the mountains. We will finish at Aguas Calientes, a town at the base of Machu Picchu. We then hike to the stunning Incan Ruins of Machu Picchu.
However secondly, and perhaps more importantly, the expedition gives us the opportunity to give something back to children who are less fortunate than me. I will get the chance to help at the remote Azul Wasi Children's Home, teaching kids about aspects of British Culture and helping with their home work, as well as working on construction and agriculture projects.
