Help Texas Opticians After Harvey

Hurricane Harvey is the name that is now synonymous with one of the most catastrophic events in the history of the United States. Thousands of people are now in shelters and have been displaced from their homes. Many opticians in the state of Texas are also affected by this act of mother nature.
We are The Certified Opticians Association of Texas (COAT) a 501(c)(6) non-profit organization, and we want to help fellow opticians through this tough time.We are asking opticians all around the country to help us in this cause with donations.
My name is Mustafa Asif, I am the president of COAT. We have about 125 Annual members and some of the members have been displaced from their homes.
Once we reach our goal we will help them with rebuilding their homes or businesses which ever was effected by financially helping them.
This will help the opticians who are affected by this flood with lost wages, home repair or anything that they would need.
Here is an email we received from an optician in Houston.
I as many other people I lost everything .furniture, appliances ,cars and clothing.i did not have flood insurance in my house.But the most importance is that God safe my family! !. Also I was approach by 2 thiefs who had guns and were trying to take us to the back of the house. but in that minute an helicopter was close to us and i acted as they were comming for us. That make them leave. Beside i had a hat from the Army and they though that it was better to find somebody else. We continues walking with difficulty because the water was in my stomach . My son is autistic . He was very confused and worry .He could not understand what was going on. Finally a very nice couple took us to my sister in law house were we are now.
Thanks God nothing happened to my business we will star again God is merciful

An application for assistance will be emailed to our members. The process will include the applicant sending pictures and/or documentation showing damage to residence or business for verification purposes. After a set deadline, we will randomly select 10 opticians to receive assistance. The donated money will be divided evenly among the 10 recipients.
Please donate generously because there are many other opticians who are suffering.
We will give opticians a check based on the needs from your donations.
