Court Expenses & Wheelchair Van Repairs

Donation protected

Chace will be turning 18 this coming October. We are having to obtain a lawyer to apply for Guardianship for his adult life. Which will be two separate court cases.

First court case we will have to prove he can not take care of himself and speak for himself.

The second court case will be for the Guardian ship. Once he turns 18 the state will step in and lock us out of all his medical decisions and could possibly take him.

We are blessed to have a lawyer that is not going to charge us a lawyer fee. But there is court fees, filing fees, professional fees, etc. Which can be $10,000.00 or more all together in court fees.

We are coming to ask for any help in donations to help us keep Chace and his medical decisions with us.

Any money leftover from this fundraiserwill go to the repairs of his Wheelchair Van.

Since this is a legal matter. We have someone that will be in charge of these finances and will keep records and receipts foreverything.

If you don't already know him, Meet Chace!!

He's a loving 17 year old that was diagnosed with Spastic Quadriplegic Cerebral Palsy, Developmental Delay and Intractable Epilepsy.

For those who are interested in more information about Chace's condition. I have explained more in detail below.

So lets get started. Let me explain what his condition is. Cerebral palsy is caused by damage to the motor control centers of the developing brain and can occur during pregnancy, during childbirth or after birth up to about age three. Resulting limits in movement and posture cause activity limitation and are often accompanied by disturbances of sensation, depth perception and other sight-based perceptual problems, communication ability; impairments can also be found in cognition, and epilepsy is found in about one-third of cases. CP, no matter what the type, is often accompanied by secondary musculoskeletal problems that arise as a result of the underlying etiology.

Chace was born October 22, 2004 at 26 weeks weighing only 1lb 11oz. He was a very tiny little thing. At three days old he received to much oxygen to the brain from the ventilator that caused a ruptured blood vessel in the brain. This is what caused Chace to develop Cerebral palsy. Chace received several surgeries during his first couple of months of life. He spent a total of 4 and a half months in the hospital before I was able to bring him home on a heart monitor and oxygen. At five years old Chace had his first seizure. It lasted 45 mins long. He then was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy with epileptic seizures. The common factors that can bring on his seizures are fevers, infections, dehydration and lack of sleep.
