17137612_1483369037.1293_funddescriptionIf you don't already know him, Meet Chace!!

He's a loving 12 year old that was diagnosed with Spastic Quadriplegic Cerebral Palsy, Developmental Delay and Intractable Epilepsy.

Chace does not sit up, walk, feed himself or talk. Although he does not do those things he tries very hard to crawl, communicate (in his own way) and play like all the other children. He is a very outgoing little guy. He amazes most people that meet him and bring smiles to everyone that knows him.

We have created this Gofundme page to help raise funds for travel and medical equipment expenses. We will be visiting the Children's Hospitals in Ganiesville and Tampa in the upcoming months quiet frequently for testing and medical procedures. Which are 3 to 4.5 hours away from where we live. We are an one income family of 6. We live paycheck to paycheck. Which makes the struggle even harder making these trips on top of his regular doctors appointments that are an hour away.

Chace is also in need of some medical equipment that is just to high for our budget. Such as a wedge with straps that can help with his tummy time during therapies, video baby monitor to help watch him sleep at night safety in the event of seizures, and etc.

We know times are tough for everyone and we appreciate any donations and prayers that we receive. Thank you for taking the time to read about our Chace and our need. Like anyone that loves their children. We want to give our son the best possible chance at a normal life.

For those who are interested in more information about Chace's condition. I have explained more in detail below.

So lets get started. Let me explain what his condition is. Cerebral palsy is caused by damage to the motor control centers of the developing brain and can occur during pregnancy, during childbirth or after birth up to about age three. Resulting limits in movement and posture cause activity limitation and are often accompanied by disturbances of sensation, depth perception and other sight-based perceptual problems, communication ability; impairments can also be found in cognition, and epilepsy is found in about one-third of cases. CP, no matter what the type, is often accompanied by secondary musculoskeletal problems that arise as a result of the underlying etiology.

Chace was born October 22, 2004 at 26 weeks weighing only 1lb 11oz. He was a very tiny little thing. At three days old he received to much oxygen to the brain from the ventilator that caused a ruptured blood vessel in the brain. This is what caused Chace to develop Cerebral palsy. Chace received several surgeries during his first couple of months of life. He spent a total of 4 and a half months in the hospital before I was able to bring him home on a heart monitor and oxygen. At five years old Chace had his first seizure. It lasted 45 mins long. He then was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy with epileptic seizures. The common factors that can bring on his seizures are fevers, infections, dehydration and lack of sleep.

We received a call from our landlord today that we have 30 days to move out. He’s moving back home. Problem is we can’t afford to move that quick. Between having vehicle issues and no facing the task of moving. We are asking for prayers and good thoughts that something will come up to help us. I wish we could buy a home and not rent at all. But that requires a co-signer. We aren’t asking for donations on this. Just prayers, please. Thank you in advance.

Chace got his new bike on Monday! He was over the moon. The giggles and laughter was worth all the prayers and years wait.

Chace has had a fun summer. He has been to the beach, camp, parties, and more. His favorite part of the summer was a week away to summer camp by himself. He was a little on the shy side when we left him, but when we picked him up. He was much taller, more mature, and didn’t want to come home. He had that much fun. Mommy on the other hand missed him so much. The other exciting news we received is that Chace will be receiving his brand new custom built adaptive bike on Monday the 6th. He is over the moon. He will also be starting Aquatic Therapy next week in PC.

As much fun as he has had this summer he will be starting back to school on the 10th. He is starting 8th grade and couldn’t be more excited.

The downside of the summer he did have a few seizures and a double ear infection. He has more upcoming appts in Gainesville in September and October. We are looking at more Botox injections, and seeing a scoliosis specialist for his spine. Then our normal appts with the Neurologist, Ortoh, and etc.
