Strides For St Jude's

Hello, my name is Kate Cicale and this year I am honored to announce that I will be running in the 2017 Boston Marathon per the invitation of my family friend Steve, who was one of many athletes and spectators that were effected by The Tradgey of the 2013 Boston Marathon. This year, I am striving to raise awareness of the health issues that are afflicting many families in our community. I will be accomplishing this by accepting donations on behalf of the St Jude Hospital of which 100% of the donations will be going to the charity. I will also be holding several fundraising events that will be posted to my page. Every goal hasit's first step, this years Boston Marathon steps, whether it is running or walking, needs to leave its mark on our community by helping save lives.
The mission statement of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital is, "To advance cures, and means of prevention, for pediatric catastrophic diseases through research and treatment. Consistent with the vision of our founder Danny Thomas, no child is denied treatment based on race, religion or a family's ability to pay".
My beloved grandmother recently passed in March within three months of being diagnosed with stage 4 mesothelioma. I was present during the final phases, weeks and moments of the last day of her life. My heart goes out to my grandmother and anyone struggling from this unmerciful disease that has taken so many lives and effected countless families. As one of her last wishes, all donations from her funeral were to go towards St. Jude Hospital. I want to run this year as I have made the promise to run in her name, Carol Cicale and for the foundation itself, St Jude Hospital with all it represents.
The mission we are trying to achieve is at least $5500.00 for the 55 years of marriage my grandmother and father spent together for her last days.
Please help me awareness of this crippling disease and any donations of which will 100% be going to St Jude Hospital Research.
