Help Get Me to Nicaragua!

Hi! My names Skylyn Vokey and I’m a junior at Windham High School. Today, I want to reach out to the community. Through a club called Young Life me and all the other kids who participate are being offered a mission trip to Nicaragua in March of 2017. Which is only six shorts months away. Personally, I feel like this trip would teach me a lot about hard work and compassion. In Nicaragua, we will stay at an orphanage where we will help to fix small repairs, or maybe even some big ones. We will also have times in the day or even days where we do community outreach. In the outreach program we will be playing games with the kids or having sermons with them sometimes. Overall, we will help to improve the place they live and their community while gaining an unimaginable cultural experience. However, the trip is around $1,600. Due to the price being so high I immediately put it out of my head, but it’s been sticking with me over the last few months. So, I am reaching out to you all as a community to ask for donations. I understand how hard it is for me, even while working two jobs, to pay for gas let alone give anyone else money which is why I want to make it clear that you should not by any means feel obligated to me to donate. Whether you’re my closest family relative or someone who has never met me, it doesn’t matter. However, I would ask that you share this with people around you who you believe could and would want to help me get to Nicaragua. Even a donation as small as five dollars would be so helpful in the long run. The first deadline is only three weeks away and that's for $200! Please share this with your friends and family and pray for me as I try to tackle on this newest journey in my life! This experience is a once in a lifetime kind of experience and I can't even begin to explain my excitement. However, I also want you all to know that my gratitude doesn't just extend as far as the money you give me.
