Help Pete get on his feet.

This is Peter. Most people know him as Pete. He has been a staple as a chess player and conversationalist at a local coffee shop for many years. Most people have spoken to him, argued with him, or even played a game of chess or two with him.

The past couple of years haven't been easy on Pete, and he's really gone through some really hard times. He lost his significant other, his apartment, then his car all within the same year. Pete had purchased a bike to get around town for his everyday necessities. I called Pete to check in on him as I do every so often, and he told me about a week ago he woke up to the find the chain cut and his bike gone. See Pete, unfortunately, had a botched back surgery and can't walk any more than ten feet without stopping to lean on something. Now imagine trying to walk around everywhere on your feet...not very easy in that condition. He's worked with a local car dealer who told him that if he comes up with a downpayment of $1000 for a car, the owner of the dealership would personally finance the rest. This is where you and I and hopefully many more will come in. I am hoping we can raise the funds to get Pete some transportation so he can get around town and not lose his mobility.

Pete doesn't know I am doing this for him and I'd like to keep it that way until we can hopefully raise the funds to help him out.
