Help for Mountain City’s Pets and Strays

While Mountain City, TN. is fortunate to have animal control, there are still a woeful amount of stray dogs and cats that have no home.  Most of these strays are simply dropped off at the end of a road or left tied to a sign. Someone will see them and take pity, right? Someone will give them a home and food. How do you feed an animal when you can’t feed yourself?  These animals need to be housed, fed and vetted. Utility bills, food bills, supply bills and vet bills add up.... fast.   That’s why this gofundme is being set up. All monies collected by this fund will go to providing what is needed most to see that Mountain City’s strays are properly cared for and found loving furever homes. That could be for kitty litter, dog food, cleaning supplies, but most of all, toward the vetting of these animals. That means these animals will be given their needed shots, spayed or neutered and any other medical attention that’s needed. In order to adopt out an animal, by law they must have their rabies shots and either be spayed or neutered or have a deposit taken if they are still currently too young for the surgery. Rescues will only accept animals that are healthy, current on shots and spayed or neutered. Adoptions, Rescues and Fosters are the only way to avoid euthanasia of adoptable animals.  Up until two years ago, stray animals faced an 80% euthanasia rate. That rate has dropped to an unbelieveable 0%!  Again, your donations will go towards whatever is needed most to continue to save the lives of the animals who would only be turned out, abandoned or become an easy meal for a predator.
