Help Lindsay Lockhart Beat Cancer

Lindsay Lockhart, 29 years of age, was diagnosed with Stage III adrenal cortical carcinoma in November 2017; an extremely rare cancer that is sadly one of the most aggressive and unforgiving. Lindsay has given much of her life in service to others, including two and a half years in the Peace Corp, and time in Peru helping to rebuild a small town after an earthquake. After graduating from Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies with a master’s degree in May 2017, Lindsay married the love of her life, Michael Riess, in June 2017.
Four months into a six-month honeymoon, Lindsay was suffering from what she thought was muscle pain, only to find out she had a 14-centimeter tumor on her adrenal gland. She promptly had surgery in November 2017 and began a series of tests. When it came back that the tumor was malignant and she had cancer, her world was turned upside down. And after further scans came back showing that the cancer had spread, the worlds of her husband, mother, sisters, family, and friends have also been turned upside down.
Lindsay has now had multiple surgeries, several scans, is on a highly specialized cocktail of medication, and is well into her chemotherapy regimen, which will hopefully get this cancer under control. Chemo is unkind on her body and has caused hair loss and extreme nausea, leading to additional hospitalizations and anxiety. Luckily Lindsay and Michael had time to complete one round of fertility to freeze eggs, in hopes of growing their family someday. Between the surgeries, CT scans, MRIs, fertility, therapy, and numerous medical bills, it will cost a fortune to beat cancer. But we, Lindsay and Michael's family and friends, are here to help them get through this!
Lindsay and Mike would never ask for help; hence their family is stepping in to try and raise what we can to help them have a better second, third, fourth... and 60th anniversary together than this trying first year. Any amount donated helps, and goes directly towards Lindsay's medical treatment in hopes of curing her once and for all, and helping her to live a long, happy, and healthy life.
