During the closing of selling their Stoutsville, OH home, Judy Wade, Rocky Wade, and Lilyana Kontul temporarily relocated to a mobile home while house hunting. The Columbus, OH mobile home is where this tragedy took place...
Judy Wade and her non-verbal, autistic, 5-year-old granddaughter, Lilyana, were sleeping together in bed when an SUV lost control and careened into and through the residence, just after 1 a.m. on Saturday, January 19th, 2019. During impact, the SUV went directly through the bedroom occupied by the two and into the vehicle parked on the other side of the home. Judy absorbed the entire force of the SUV, miraculously shielding Lily and saving her life. The driver, described as a heavy set black man with a bald head, then attempted to leave the scene by redlining the vehicle in forward and reverse to try and flee. After he was unsuccessful, he fled on foot while ignoring the cries of Judy and Lilyana. We cannot even fathom what those two went through on that horrific night. At this time that monster is still out there. Please help us bring him to justice! If you have any information, please contact local Police at their Accident Investigations Unit number, [phone redacted]. The family will pay a reward of $500 for any tips that lead to a conviction.
The first responders found Judy trapped against her Dodge Caravan and covered with debris on the other side of the home. Judy was plowed through the bedroom, through the hallway, and then through the wall into her Caravan. Amazingly, Judy was able to remain consciousness and alert them of Lilyana being on scene. The entire way to the hospital, all she continued to do was ask about her granddaughter and if she was okay.
The fact that the two were not killed instantly upon impact is a MIRACLE. Lily was taken to Children's Hospital and soon released with minor injuries: Judy saved her life. Judy was taken to Grant Medical Center in critical condition and underwent immediate surgery to save her life.
Judy was rushed to Grant Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio with hemorrhagic shock with massive internal bleeding, severe lung and chest wall damage, broken pelvis, broken leg, multiple broken ribs and a broken clavicle. She had 7 fractured vertebrae but thankfully her spinal cord was only bruised and not severed. She has gone through multiple hours of surgeries to stop the internal bleeding. She relies on a ventilator because her lungs are so damaged, and their function is very poor. She is currently going through a spinal fusion surgery as we speak and has a LONG road to recovery. Judy will require multiple surgeries and rehabilitation in the future. She has a very strong spirit and will to survive because she knows that her granddaughter needs her love and support every day. Even in this damaged state, she is able to respond to questions by squeezing your hand or fluttering her beautiful green eyes.
Your thoughtful contribution will provide relief for medical bills, immediate expenses, and so much more for Judy and Lilyana. The family is currently homeless, as the entire house is a loss and will have to be further demolished. The items that were used for Lilyana's therapies and communication were also a total loss. Please help Judy, Lily and their family recover from this awful experience. And if you know anything at all about the foul human that did this, please help us bring him to justice!
