Meet John and Tammy...John my wonderful goofy brother and my amazing sister in law Tammy. They're engaged and expecting their first child together! My little niece or nephew is due 4/9/18.
Last night, on the Garden State Parkway, they all nearly died. They were on their way home, when moments prior a vehicle struck another, leaving one in the ditch and one sideways across the highway. All of the parkway lights were out. My brother, trying not to hit the car that was horizontally blocking the road, hit his brakes and threw his emergency lights on (he has a massive truck for salting and plowing.) My brother ran out of his truck to help the woman who was in the road. Then, as my pregnant sister in law was getting out of the truck to run to safety, another vehicle came barreling down the highway at an astronomical speed hitting into my brother's truck that my sister in law was still in, literally lifting and throwing the truck into the median. My brother's plow and front end came off the truck, his trailer hitch plate and hookups were folded under the truck , and his salter was tossed onto the top of his cab.
Both were taken to the hospital for treatment and to ascertain the health and safety of the baby.
This truck was everything. My brother's entire business. Plowing, salting and then landscaping in the warmer months. This was my brother's way to provide for his new family.
Sure it's all material that can be replaced, but that's going to take time, especially without the immediate means to begin making money again.. Bills, doctors visits, the truck, the supplies, the tools.....and that's not even factoring in the costs of having a baby. It's just going to take alot.
I'm asking for help on behalf of my brother, my sister in law and my future niece or nephew. They are so young and have so much sorrow in their lives that I can't even begin to explain. In short, they didn't deserve this.
