THE BEST THINGS IN LIFE ARE RESCUED
Helping Paws Rescue is a non-profit, no kill, 100% volunteer-run animal rescue. Our mission is to rescue homeless and abandoned animals, spay, neuter and provide medical care, and then place them in foster homes until we are able to adopt them into loving homes they need and deserve! Helping Paws Rescue relies on the kindness and generosity of animal lovers like you who open their hearts and homes to help us take care of the animal orphans that desperately need our help. We try our best to match the right dog to each potential owner through our screening and adoption process.
We may be small but we're making a big impact and we'd like to continue doing so. In the past year our vet bills alone have surpassed $27,000! Our set adoption fee usually covers the standard vet bills for each dog. We have many dogs come to our Rescue who require more than a simple vet check before they are ready for adoption. Owners surrender dogs who are sick because they can’t/don’t want to pay the vet bills. Puppy Mills (grrr) often “give” us their unwanted breeder dogs. We would not turn any of these animals away! Along with vet bills we have other pet owner’s expenses – food, grooming, cleaning supplies, beds for the shelter, etc. We fund-raise as much as we can and are thankful for everything we receive.
We hope in our efforts to make a difference that we may also educate the public as to the importance of proper animal care, spaying and neutering, and the need for rescues like ours to help animals in need. While we realize we can’t save every animal, we are dedicated to making a difference, however small.
Can you help us make a difference? Donations to Helping Paws Rescue will be used to help pay down our vet bills and other expenses – food, grooming (sometimes we can't do this ourselves), cleaning supplies, food, beds for the shelter, upkeep of the shelter, did we mention food? ... and maybe some day expanding the shelter so we can save more lives. :)
