HOLIDAY HELPING HANDS 2015 FOR CHRISTMAS WISHES
A few years ago this group of Radio Stations began a program called “Christmas Wishes”. With the help and generous donations from many of our Advertisers and other businesses, and the community, we were able to help make Christmas Wishes come true for dozens of Families.
Each year we are inundated with stories of unmet needs of many families or individuals, who have endured hardships such as an illness, accident, job loss or even loss of a loved one. Or single parents who are just struggling to make Christmas special.
How it works
We ask our listeners to write us a brief description of the hardship they have witnessed… for a friend, a neighbor or a loved one. Then, what would be the perfect gift for them to receive. We also ask why they think they should receive it.
Lastly, as a group, we evaluate the needs and purchase, wrap and deliver the gifts.
There have been gifts as large as a house full of windows and a new bed to sleep on. We also give out a lot of toys and even Hams for dinners!
Although we helped dozens of families last year,
but we could not help them all.
