Helping the homeless : care bags

This will be my 6th year collecting and handing out care packages to the homeless in the Boston area. The first 2 years I did this solo and stared off small with 7 bags the first year and then 15 bags.  The third year I had 2 friends help me and we did 25 and the next  year it was me and my buddy George and we aimed to double our bags and get 50 and we kept receiving donations and we crubsed our goal and put together 75! We had people come up to us last year remembering us fromThe previous year which was amazing to hear. Last year we did 175! We are aiming for 200 this year 100 male bags and 100 female bags. In each bag we do a toothbrush , toothpaste, comb, shampoo , soap , socks , winter hat , winter gloves , some food , a sweatshirt from Salvation Army hand warmers tampons/pads deodorant body spray and a few other small things and last year we added. $5 dunkins gift card as well. We get our bags from tjmaxx. We hand out our bags around thanksgiving time
