Let's Help Lisa Swirles-Ross with her Recovery

To quote my friend Lisa Ross Swirles:

"Hello friends! I have been off the radar for sometime now.....83 days exactly! Back in March I had a horrific horse accident (totally my fault, not my horse). Needless to say the prognosis was never good. I had a shattered pelvis, 11 broken ribs, dislocated kneecap and a concussion.  I was rushed to the hospital and the pain was beyond control so that's the first time they intubated me so that I could breathe, as well as, keeping me sedated so they could make sure I had plenty of tests done in order to go into a huge surgery.

Had several complications during surgery, 3 blood transfusions and 7 1/2 hour surgery. I survived the surgery thanks to this unbelievable surgeon and God overlooking us.

Then, due to the 11 broken ribs I had a hard time breathing- which then I got double pneumonia in both lungs, as well as, a very serious infection in both lungs on top of the pneumonia - which made breathing extremely difficult so therefore there was no choice, but to intubate me several times. Their last option was to do a tracheotomy in order to save my life.

I was in TRAUMA ICU for 40 days.....enough to make sure I could now breath on my on. Was sent to rehab for ten days and released from the hospital at Day 50! Today....day 83, I'm still wheelchair bound since I cannot put any weight on my right leg. Being in a wheelchair full time is not easy. Not, any of this has been easy, but I've learned so much about life and myself and the power of prayer.

I want to thank my best friend,  Lori Irti Davidson, who had to make some really tough decisions that I wouldn't wish on anyone! Thank God she was there!......My daughter Shea Elizabeth Ross, who never hesitated and flew in from Colorado and was there as soon as I woke up from surgery. Any my family, the ones in PBG and Colorado who didn't hesitate to be by my side. I am so grateful and thankful.

Well, I'm doing my rehab twice a day ( getting stronger) and will find out on the 26th if I can  move from the wheelchair to a walker....I wont be driving for several more months or going back to work. Thank you to those who have contributed financially . At this point I have no income, but thank you to those wonderful people who have helped."

I have known Lisa since childhood for over forty years.  She is one of those genuine, salt of the earth, good people.  I can't imagine the financial burden the medical bills alone will amount too.  If you can help out at all the universe will shine down upon you!
