Helping get my brother with Aspergers on his feet

Donation protected

I have an older brother Shawn who was diagnosed with Asperger’s syndrome when he was 9 years old. He is currently still living at home with our mom, and unfortunately he hasn’t had luck with keeping a job, he struggles with completing multiple tasks at a time, and gets overwhelmed easily. He’s been too afraid to go and get his drivers license or try again for another job because he’s afraid of rejection.

We have a 2 stall detached garage with a 23 x19 storage room on the other end with running water. Our whole roof needs replaced, and we will need to lay down flooring, update the walls, and add in a bathroom. This is stuff that HAS to be done anyways, but Our goal is to make this space a first time apartment for him. My husband will be doing the work himself. We will also be helping him get the household items he needs to be there. This is so he feels like he’s close to people he loves if he needs anything, but also has the freedom of being on his own. Our goal is to take him to and from therapy sessions to help him develop skills he needs for everyday living and holding down a job. He loves my husband and they are fairly close, and he’s trusting him to teach him to drive to get his license. I want to bless this man. He’s such an important person in my life, and I want to watch him become successful.

My brother is so smart. And my parents are wonderful- but if I am ABLE to help I can and will in anyway! And that’s what this is. It doesn’t make my parents less than. It makes me a dang good sister who wants to see my brother do amazing things!

By donating to this campaign you’re helping someone who doesn’t see his worth, grow into a thriving, independent individual.

I didn’t post this for people to tell about how great I am for doing this. I post this because I want others to know that I care so much about the people around me that I’m willing to do whatever it takes to make someone happy. I know what it’s like to feel unimportant. Or feeling like you won’t amount to anything. And I don’t want him to feel that way. I want to see my brother genuinely happy. And I want him to be proud of who he is ♥️
He really is truly one of the greatest people I know. I want him to believe that HE CAN be on his own. He can make it.

So basically we are looking to replace the roof, drywall, flooring, bathroom put in, household appliances, necessities, and any extra will go towards a car fund and/or money towards therapy sessions. There’s also been talk about him possibly going back to school!

thank you so much for taking the time to read into our story. I truly appreciate it. ♥️♥️
I haven’t told my brother about this campaign because I don’t want him to feel embarrassed. But I can’t wait to see how it unfolds down the road!

Here is a link to his online registry as well.
