Helping get Kurt home

Donation protected
On the 31st Kurt was admitted with gastro, had to have surgery and turned out to not be gastro. They put him into an induced coma, and the next morning they called me to say they'd discovered it was meningococcal. For about 2.5 weeks he was left in a coma while they treated the meningococcal and while his body tried to fight it as well. As a result of the meningococcal Kurt also had to have his spleen removed as the infection had caused it shut down. They left him in a coma after it was treated for 3-4 more days just to be sure he could be woken. After that, he was woken and there was just a list of organs that had failed, which are now all starting to work again. Last week they said his legs were too dead to try recover and they were only going to make him sick again so they needed to be amputated. His fingers are still being watched, however amputations may still be required.

There is still a long road of recovery for Kurt, and we appreciate everyone's thoughts and wishes. Any donations to assist with the expenses to help move into a wheelchair suitable home and further care would be greatly appreciated!

UPDATE - Kurt has now had his legs amputated to just below his knees and also had his left index finger removed. Further surgeries to come in the next week.
