Joe (Jojo) Garcia

Where’s Grandpa???

These words have echoed in my mind over the past few days as I try to process February 21st 2019 and what led up to it. The day that my Step-Dad Joe (JoJo to many) went to be with the Lord.

Joe had gone to urgent care and was diagnosed with pneumonia. He was sent home with medication and he seemed to rapidly get worse.

On February 14th, Valentine’s Day, he was admitted to the hospital. Their diagnosis was a strong and aggressive flu accompanied by pneumonia. It would be a long road to recovery, but we remained hopeful because Joe was a fighter and he was strong and courageous. They told us he was very critical and they didn’t know which way it would go. We only prayed for the best outcome.  In a sense, we remained confident he would be perfectly fine. We watched him fighting for his life day after day, with some days offering a surge of recovery. But devastatingly, after 8 days of his battle, he departed from us and joined God’s army of angels.

In the midst of grieving this horrific tragedy, we must come together to lay him to rest. My Mother, Lisa Garcia has received a beautiful amount of love and support from many loved ones. It has helped her get through the transition of day to day life and I ask that we all continue to support and love one another as time goes on without him. The donations will help with the expenses that come with this tragic loss and it is very appreciated.

Services will be announced as soon as possible. I understand that many of you are coming from a long distance to celebrate him.

Thank you for your love and support,
