Coach Hatcher is a great man. He is my role model. He is a man of integrity. His wife, sons, and grandkids want him around. He has TRS health care, and needs our help now! Coach Hatcher was in education from the early 80's until 2013 (31 years) during that time he took 5 sick days. There he taught World History, and was a Head Baseball coach to thousands of kiddos. In December of 2014 he was diagnosed with CML, Chronic myeloid leukemia . This type of Leukemia takes a pill that he has to take daily, it is life sustaining medication, without it, he would no longer be with us. This medication is called Bosulif.
ANY AMOUNT RAISED OVER THE GOAL WILL BE DONATED TO OTHER TRS MEMBERS IN THE SAME SITUATION, OR CML RESEARCH.
Monthly payments were 35-65 dollars. His copay assistance ran out July of 2018 thus he paid 1,103 as seen on the news. TRS health care the system for retired teachers faced a billion dollar shortfall, which congress increased out of pockets and other things for retired educators. Next month the order will cost 2,770 dollars, the month after 903. If there is no assistance next year he will pay 3,940 in January and 2,770 in February before he reaches his out of pocket max. If able to receive the assistance, then he will pay the 1,103 again next July and 2,770 in August. During that time he will also have monthly copays. All and all within the next year and a half Coach Hatcher is looking at 11,000 plus dollars.
