Helping a Woman Warrior beat cancer

Donation protected

I met Cherry almost 3 years ago through the au pair program-  She was here for a year as an au pair living in Half Moon Bay.  Although I only met her a few times, I could tell immediaely that she is a person full of life, a super positive person and someone that has big dreams! After her journey as an au pair ended, she went back home to Sweden to return to her normal life, but she had this desire to come back to California to study.  Cherry did everything she could to make that dream happen, and before she knew it-  she was back in Half Moon Bay living her dream.  Unfortunately,  just a few months after getting here, Cherry learned that she has hodgkin's lymphoma,  a cancer that starts in white blood cells. Here she is, away from her family and close friends- and she learns of this fate.

Most people would immediately book a ticket and go back home, but not Cherry.  This is her dream to be here, to go to school, and she is committed to fight this cancer and beat it! Thats the good news-  Cherry has this amazing attitude, she is sharing her journey with everyone which is so brave, and she knows that she is going to kick cancer's ass!

Cherry is on round 2 of her chemo and has 10 more to go.  She just had her head shaving event and let me tell you-  she rocks the shaved head!  Cherry has set up an account that will ask people to help her with getting to and from her treatments, as well as bringing her food- But for anyone that has gone through any kind of sickness, you know that bills add up!  Cherry is a student-  she is here from Sweden on loans..  She doesn't have a job here so any fees that are not covered by international insurance ( which is a lot )  They all add up and finances should be the least of Cherry's concern.

I am starting this GoFundMe for Cherry because I want to help her and this is one way I know how.  Friends and family from all over the world can log in and donate to Cherry to help her in a way that she needs it..  I have known people that have had cancer and you want to do things for them, but you always think-  what can I do that will actually help them.  Well,  donating $10, $20 whatever you can spare-  all of this will just make this journey a little easier and will allow her to focus on what is most important-  her health and staying positive!
