Help Me Get My Surgery

Hello! My name is Hayley Treat. I am a trans woman who is facing the terrifying and exhilarating life that’s about to start as I take my steps towards womanhood. One of which is known as “bottom surgery” (vaginoplasty). That is my target for this gofundme; to raise enough money to help me with the costs that come with this procedure.
Generally, prices for this procedure can be upwards of 20K, not even including the recovery time in the hospital or the time taken off from work. However, because of my insurance covering most of this on a one time basis, I only have to cover the cost of my deductible and the amount I will need for bills while I am out of work.
While it is amazing news that there is such a low amount that needs to be paid, I cannot impress enough the need and necessity for this life affirming procedure. The after effects of over half a year of harassment and everything done and said to me a few years ago still effect me. Their voices in my head are deafening at times and very defeating. I am battling with my own self esteem that I had destroyed when I was living disingenuously and then solidified while harassed. It is a struggle with my own mind every day because of the way I was treated.
My boss at the job I had come out at had told me that I had been accepted by everyone. That I was the only one who thought I was out of place. But I still heard the guy who attacked me on Facebook make fake gagging noises when I passed. I've still been told that he called me "it" instead of She. You see, I had been given a chance to have the people who harassed me fired, but I made the decision that I didn't want to ruin their lives. I didn't want to do to them what had been done to me. All I wanted was to work separately from them.
A surgery like this could give me so much more strength. So much affirmation. It could literally change my whole outlook on life and myself. I believe it is the first step in changing my self esteem for the better. It is a very large obstacle that I have to hurdle to get where I need to be mentally. This surgery is such a preoccupation in my mind, it is nearly impossible to concentrate on improving my self esteem and self worth.
Surgeries like this one will help so much more than you could imagine. They are the life affirming goals that can help a person’s well being and state of mind. They are the unattainable things that people like me dream of and think of on a daily basis. But you can help me live this dream. You can help me be the woman I, and others, know that I am.
