Help for Harley

Donation protected
Harley Bug has been part of our family for seven years. He was adopted from a No Kill recue and has enjoyed good health and been a loyal friend all these years. That's why when Harley Bug started expelling blood this 4th of July week, it was the most upsetting moment we ever experienced with him. In my 40 years of owning cats I never had one be sick like that.

Our vet is always straight with us and he said that at thirteen years old, the causes for Harley's symptoms were numerous. Was it a tumor? A foreign object? A blockage? My mind was reeling thinking the worst. The only way to eliminate possible causes was through tests; tests, and subsequently medicine, that we couldn't afford. But we know as pet parents we do whatever we need to for our furbabies.

We had the work up done and were relieved to discover there was no need for surgery and no tumors. But his issue is long term as he was diagnosed with a form of gastritis. Harley is unable to process the pet food and treats he loves. The blood he had been expelling was from the trauma to his digestive tract. Harley now needs to be on a special diet with medicines added to it for a jump start to his recovery.

My husband has been out of work due to a knee injury and has had two surgeries for it. We have been struggling to make ends meet for over a year. Our family has been generous in helping us but now we find ourselves in need of additional support. This fundraiser is to help us recoup the vet costs. I've included a photo of the vet bill for transparency. Harley had X-rays plus medicine and special food. Please know that donations and shares are appreciated.

Peace Love and Catnip.
