Mark Laurie's Cancer Research

Over the past eight months, I have been able to develop a rudmentary, profound diagnostic for renal cell carcinoma, a cancer that is asymptomatic during the early stages, which, as a result, takes the lives of thousands.  I have dedicated hundreds of hours to researching and testing this new diagnostic that is able to accurately detect renal cell carcinoma during the early stages by employing and implementing concepts from both the electrical engineering and biomedical fields. In short, a field effect transistor has been proven to measure a change in resistance when a change in its environment surrounds the mechaism. By developing and engineering my own field effect transistor device and testing it against various but relevant concentrations of an upregulated biomarker of renal cell carcinoma, I found that a highly differentiable standard curve could be generated that could potentially determine not only whether a patient has RCC but also their specific stage by using solely urine samples. This diagnostic would cost around ten dollars to manufacture and would take around ten minutes to test, which is much more affordable than the current screening methods.
The results obtained from my experiment further warrant the need to continue testing and optimizing this diagnostic. As a 2016 Intel International Science and Engineering Fair Finalist and 4th place award winner in the Biomedical and Health Sciences category, the judges who interviewed me there all have PhDs and MDs in the biomedical and engineering fields clearly agreed with my conclusion and advised me that this diagnostic has profound potential.  However, the next step requires immediate funding that cannot be obtained by solely myself, so I sincerely ask for whatever is possible to donate so that I can purchase the necessary materials to continue. Anyone who donates will potentially help save thousands of lives from this deadly disorder in the near future, and I sincerely thank them for that. The funds are needed as soon as possible! If anybody wants more information regarding more specifically what I have developed and my exact future procedures, please don't hesitate to contact me at [email redacted]! I also have an article in the community newspaper that can be viewed here highlighting my work, inspirations, and aspirations:
