WHO WE ARE
Bang The Elephant is a neo-Victorian inspired brewery. Formed in Long Eaton by two friends Nigel Patton and Mike Shipman in 2017 the mission was simple - Subvert The Stereotype. Break the stigma of cask ale being a tasteless old man's drink and create big, bold, weird and wonderful beers for all.
Named after the Victorian phrase 'Bang Up To The Elephant' (meaning something that is done properly) the brand expands into an education and preservation in Victorian slang/phrases and characters. Other beer names include 'Balloon Juice', 'Batty Fang' and 'Half Rats' - look up the meanings! In addition the clip, can and bottle artwork celebrates Victorian and steampunk art and vintage engravings to tell the story of the Elephant named Bang and his journey. Each beer release contains more clues and messages.
We are also proudly Vegan, and all of our beers are unfined and naturally hazy.
WHY ARE WE HERE?
Simple, we want to increase and move into regular production of Cask, Keg, Cans and bottles to meet the demands of your drinking needs. As we are currently cuckoo brewing (meaning we brew on another brewery's kit) we need to raise funds to purchase our own equipment and premises. Unfortunately this type of kit is not cheap, therefore we NEED YOUR HELP!
WHAT THE MONEY WILL BE USED FOR
To purchase Brewery equipment such as Mash Systems (tuns, generators), Fermentation tanks and pumps, Cooling system, Filter system, Controlling boards and Cleaning systems.
We will also be using the funds to purchase raw materials and ingredients to brew, as well as invest in the brewery website.
