Help alexia walk
without the operation alexia will be wheelchair bound forever.
The operation also comes at quite a cost....the actual operation ranges between £29650 and £38493 this includes physio, professional fees, hospital charges, all patients are required for 3 weeks intense physio before being discharged to return home. Then once home the physio ranges between £25000-28000 but will need to speak to private physio for the exact price and then they've asked us to allow £10000 for flight. Hotels for the month etc.
After raising for the hydropool it's such another huge amount to raise and we want to thank everyone who's already donated to help alexia walk and come to her events.
We are aiming to get the operation when alexia hits 4 years of age. Alexia is so lucky, there's not many children who get lots of Hydrotherapy and physio before and after her op. The hydro pool is going to help her rehab tremendously.
If for any reason alexia cannot have the operation the money will be spent on private physio and equipment.
Thank you for taking the time to read her page and thank you xxx
WE GOT THE GO AHEAD AND ARE AWAITING OUR DATE FOR AMERICA TO SEE THE BEST SURGEON IN THE WORLD TO OPERATE ON OUR LITTLE GIRLS SPINE.
Our little lady is finally strong enough after 3 years of physio, hydro, horse riding and alot of hard work. Only downside is that 2 weeks after the SDR they are going to do a second operation called Percs (which is lengthening her leg muscles where they are so tight). It will be the icing on the cake for her to learn to walk but at an extra £9000 / $12000 So we have moved the goalpost and have planned a couple more events to try and cover as much of this cost as we can.
Thank you so much for all your support and helping make this happen for her.
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF OUR HEARTS XXXX
Alexia is doing great and still having intense private physio along with daily hydrotherapy.
We are off to addenbrookes in a couple of weeks where alexia is about to under go a double hip reconstruction and have her abductors cut and botox put into her arms and legs. The hips have dislocated and not formed properly all due to the cerebral palsy and mega tight muscles that have pulled them out.
Once the op is over and the casts are all off the intense rehab will re-start and she will be working towards getting her strength back to what it is now . We will then be re-applying for the SDR in America. After the SDR the hard work will really start.Thank you for all your help and support in helping us on this journey. We really do appreciate it.
Alexia's epilepsy has also been playing havoc the last few months but she's on new medication to help control it. We have also started her on muscle relaxant to ease the pain her tight muscles are causing.
Many thanks for your constant support, we really appreciate it xxxxxx
