Mikias Addisu's Medical Fund

Donation protected
Makeda Gebremarim, mother of three boys, lives in Mekelle, Ethiopia.  Her two youngest sons, Natneal and Mikias are twins. Unfortunately, one of the twins, Mikias, was born with a condition known as Cerebral Palsy.  The boys’ father left the family shortly after the birth of the twins.

Makeda has been raising the boys and managing Mikias’ health conditions for the last five years as a single mother. Makeda and the three children have taken refuge to her mother’s small room to gain support, and to save money for Mikias’ medical treatment expenses.

Dr. Workeabebe from Addis Ababa Black Lions Hospital, have recommended that Mikias should get treatment abroad,  where he can have access to specialist. It is estimated that Mikias and the family would need approximately $50,000 in order to cover his medical expenses.

Thus, I am asking friends and family alike to join me in this campaign to raise the money required for Mikias’ medical treatment.

Note: Cerebral Palsy refers to any one of a number of neurological disorders that appear in infancy or early childhood and permanently affect body movement and muscle coordination but don’t worsen over time. Even though cerebral palsy affects muscle movement, it isn’t caused by problems in the muscles or nerves.  It is caused by abnormalities in parts of the brain that control muscle movements.  To learn more about the condition, you may visit United Cerebral Palsy web site http://ucp.org
