We are raising money for Zachary Stinson. The goal is to help fund his journey in order to complete an Ironman race. http://www.ironman.com/triathlon/events/americas/ironman/lake-placid.aspx#/axzz5dk02pIVX .  These costs will include travel, attire, supplies and all other help that will be needed to complete this task. Zachary does not have a lot of experience with triathlons, and is looking to raise money for wetsuit costs, equipment for his push-rim wheelchair, and so on. All of the costs made here will go towards items he needs to help him succeed in the race.

Below is a short bio Zachary wrote about himself:

My name is Zachary Stinson. I'm 29 years old and I live in Pennsylvania with my wife and 2 daughters. I was in the Marine Corps from 2007-2012. On Nov 9th 2010, I stepped on a IED in Afghanistan which resulted in the amputation of both my legs above the knee and losing some fingers.

Since retiring from the Marine Corps I've filled the void left behind with various sports. At the time of this writing, I've hand-cycled 9 marathons and just 2 weeks ago completed the Disney Half Marathon. I've been fairly successful with my hand-cycling, and as a way to take a step out of my comfort zone , I decided to compete in a full Ironman at Lake Placid, NY on July 28. I really wanted to challenge myself and I thought putting 140.6 miles on my arms in one day was about as good a challenge as I was going to get. I really hope that I can inspire and motivate others into challenging themselves, just as I have been doing!

It’s our National Anthem, I’m gonna stand at attention. A true American Patriot, double amputee U.S. Marine Sgt. Zachary Stinson, left, from Chambersburg, Pa., uses his arms to stand next to Team USA guard Kobe Bryant for the playing of the national anthem before an Olympic men's exhibition basketball game with Brazil, Monday, July 16, 2012, in Washington.

I met Zach during a weekend retreat for Veterans and we have been friends ever since.  Just hanging with Zach for a few minutes and you get inspired in life.  Zach shares his positive vibes and makes you feel better about yourself.

“I always keep an open mind. When God blesses you with opportunities, you jump at them, so who am I to turn something away? Especially a great friendship,” said Stinson.
