Help With Shih Tzu dog ICU Hospital Bill

$2,705 of $5,069 goal

Raised by 27 people in 2 months
My 5lb Shih Tzu who is almost 15 years old on Friday, was making some strange sound so I rushed her that evening to the animal emergency hospital in Rockledge. She wound up needing CPR during xrays to bring her back to life and then again shortly after. I got this dog there right on the nick of time! They diagnosed her with heart failure and later pulmonary hypertension. As of today Monday the March 11th she is still there.

She's been on oxygen, which she was finally taken off of sometime in the middle of the night.  They have done blood work a few times because her kidney levels were as high as 127, which is dangerous for a tiny dog. It has dropped a tiny bit with medication, but not enough yet.

The bills are huge being at an emergency hospital. I am a former teacher. Most people know that teachers don't make much. I am currently trying to find another full time job. So I am really having a hard time coming up with the vet bills and future medicine to keep her alive. I've had her since she was a puppy.

I hope to take her home tomorrow. If not, the bill will go up even more, but I want her to be fine before coming  home so I don't have to rush her back there.

I would appreciate any money that you can donate to help with her medical expenses from the hospital and medicine.  If you can't donate please share this as each share helps a ton as well!

See the updates for the actual vet bills!

Thank you so much,

Brian

My dog continues to prove she is a miracle dog who is a little fighter and doesn't want to give up on life. As those of you who know me know I am a Christian and once again I believe God performed a miracle and is not ready to take my girl to Heaven yet.

Yesterday as I was getting dressed for tutoring my dog let out a horrible scream. I came running and she was on her back with her legs in the air kind of twisted and kicking. I think she was on the couch prior to that and perhaps fell off maybe due to a seizure. She's had seizures before where she an't walk, but never have I heard her scream like that, but I'm always right there when she has one. Thankfully a couple of months ago I pushed the coffee table back a bit so she didn't hit it if she did indeed fall.

I held her awhile and she got off me hobbling and I watched her fall off the couch, not able to catch her. I then held her for quite a long time. She finally walked a few steps off me and fell asleep for an hour.

She woke up and walked fine to get a drink a water, another nap, woke up and walked around outside and went to the bathroom.

This all happened yesterday and she is doing well today! I wound up canceling tutoring (hoping to tutor today instead) as I couldn't leave her not being able to walk. I have a ton of pillows on the floor in front of the couch now and will remove the steps and make her stay on the floor whenever I go somewhere just as a precaution.

I believe again if God wanted her he would have taken her and had that happen while I was gone. I thought I'd have to take her back to the vet, but no vet is needed! Thank you all for your prayers for my sweet dog!!! Please keep them coming! Thank you for the donations and shares too! Let's get to 600 shares! We made it to 550 and beyond!

The same day as the last update my poor dog wound up with diarrhea a few times, but then she slept a lot, ate, and has felt better ever since!

As you can tell in the picture, she is getting closer to needing a haircut. I'm holding off as long as I can. She will need big time prayers that she can get through that. The vet office groomed her the last time and I am hoping they can give her something to calm her down so it isn't stressful for her and she doesn't try to bite.

We are getting closer to 550 shares! Keep sharing! Donate if you can afford to even if it's a $1. Every dollar helps! Thank you!

Thanks to you yesterday I reached 500 shares! Wow!!! Keep sharing and let's get to 550 by this time next week!

My sweet dog had a rough night last night. I finally had to give her cough medicine for the first time I think in 16 days at 10:30 last night. She still woke up a bunch of times coughing or wheezing whatever the noise is but got right back to sleep. Thankfully, she seems to be fine this morning with minimal noises. Please keep her in your prayers!

Thank you for the donations and shares! Keep them coming!

Wow, just 18 shares away from 500 shares! You are incredible for sharing and sharing and sharing! I appreciate the shares and the donations! Thank you so much!

My dog has made it 14 days without cough medication. She survived 2 horrible storms on Saturday and Sunday. She barked a ton and was no doubt scared, but she made it! Many more coming in the summer, I'm sure.

Thank you again for the support! Keep sharing and donate if you can. Let's hit 500 shares!
