Help With George (Jorge) Mora’s Heart Surgery

Our brother and drummer extraordinaire, George (Jorge) Mora, 57, underwent and is recovering from open heart surgery on Nov. 27 in Aguascalientes, Mexico. While in Mexico, he suffered a major heart attack and therefore is not fully covered by his U.S.-based insurance. He has been taking care of our 94-year-old mother, Enedina, for the last 18 years. He has also lived with Type 1 Juvenile Diabetes for 43 years and has other disabilities. Because of this, he has not been able to accumulate the savings needed to take care of his own needs for such emergencies.
Expenses over $35,000
The family is pitching in as best they can, but the out-of-pocket expenses may end up well over $35,000. That's dollars not pesos! His recovery will take weeks and will be difficult. The expenses will include followup doctor visits, medications, and other medically related expenses.

Those of you who have known George know that his sense of humor and affectionate nature have brought much joy to many. As many of you know, George also has been a passionate musician/drummer for many years and has been involved with the music industry in both the U.S. and Mexico. Now he needs your help. Whatever you can give would be greatly appreciated so that he can get healthy, continue to be able to take care of our mom and get back to his passion for music.
