Help Christina & Dave Kim’s father’s neck surgery

I’ve never organized a GoFundMe before and I’ve certainly never opened up about problems within my family, but today on May 20, 2019, my father who turns 70 this year was found lying almost unconscious on the Underwood Golf Complex in El Paso, TX after crashing his golf cart and breaking his neck. The golf course marshall who found him immediately called 911 and he was rushed to the nearest emergency room for neck and spinal surgery. At the time of admittance, my father was conscious but said he couldn’t feel the left side of his body. He has been in surgery to fuse his neck and spinal cord together since 11:30am PT and I just got word from my brother that at a little past 6:30pm PT the surgery was a success.
As much as I don’t want to think about it, the realist in me can’t help but think about how much not only surgery but rehabilitation is going to cost. Growing up, we didn’t have medical insurance and my father still doesn’t have medical insurance so all the bills that accrue will be paid out of pocket. He recently opened a small Korean restaurant in El Paso and told me a couple days ago that because no one is willing to wash dishes for minimum wage, my father has been washing dishes everyday to help my stepmom with the restaurant...at 70 years old. It breaks my heart and I feel so helpless not being about to do anything all the way in California.
I hate asking for help and I’ve NEVER done anything like this before so I’m definitely out of my comfort zone. I humbly ask you consider a donation for my father who has a long road to recovery ahead of him. I promise you that every penny raised will go fully towards his surgery and rehabilitation. I will provide updates on my dad’s progress and no donation is too small - every dollar helps.
