Help care for baby Moon

Moon is 2 year old thoroughbred x filly who has been bought as part of a team effort of people in order to improve her quality of life. Moon was first seen being driven in a trap in May 2019, looking very thin and unhappy in herself. A few days later, Moon was spotted again trotting loose on the roads of Yateley, having escaped from her tether where she had been chained up overnight, putting herself and motorists at risk of harm.
She was eventually caught and efforts were made to re-unite her with her owner. It was noticed that other than being very skinny, she had scabby skin irritations on her face and body, ticks around her muzzle and despite only being very young she was already showing signs of being worked too hard, with sores from tack around her mouth and concussion lines from trotting on the hard roads on her feet. Despite the ordeal she'd been through, Moon was very gentle and calm and never made any sort of fuss.
When Moon's owner came to collect her, she became visibly unsettled and those that had been present in her rescue from the road were concerned about what lay ahead of her. After some discussion, a decision was made to purchase Moon from her owner and bring her up to health.
Moon is now safe and is being cared for at a private yard and her recovery is underway. As she came with no passport or record of worming or vaccinations she will receive veterinary treatment to make her healthy and will be quarantined to keep the other horses in the area safe until she has been given the all clear from the vet.
We are fundraising to help cover the cost of her vet fees, feed, livery and medication for six months after which, when she is back to a full state of health, a decision will be made about re-homing her to someone who will be able to continue taking care of her. Any donations received that are surplus to her care costs will be donated to horse charities.
