Help with Back and current bills

Well I'm looking at being homeless. VRC (veterans resource center) says they can't help me with rent. Because supposedly I make about $300 to much. I'm so stressed out. Don't know how much more I can take. I got behind because of taking time off from work due to my husbands illness. Then missed because I had a mini stroke. Just can't catch a break. Now Oct is around the corner getting further behind. Drs tell me to avoid stress. I ask you how. My husband is getting qualified for home health so he can come home. There won't be a home for him to come to. I'm so lost. I'm behind mainly on rent. $700 for Sept. and behind $246 on lights. Oct right there don't know how to pay it when it comes due. 

Any help would greatly be appreciated.
