Help with a heroes medical bills

Hi everyone. I'm creating this GoFundMe for my uncle's hospital bills. Friday evening, April 27th, he was kidnapped, by a previously fired employee, at gunpoint from his place of work, along with his boss and another coworker who is still a teenager. The man who kidnapped them was taking them down to a dead-end road to kill them. When my uncle saw that they were heading down that road, he selflessly fought back against the attacker, first from the back seat of the truck where the kidnapper held him, then as the kidnapper tried to flee the still moving truck, my uncle fell out with him and continued to fight back. During the fight he was shot 5 times. Twice in the neck, once in the arm, once in the stomach, and once in the leg. The attacker was able to get away after shooting my uncle but was apprehended the next morning. By facing the man who was kidnapping them, my uncle was able to give the other two time to escape and run for help. Through his incredibly selfless act, he saved the lives of two others, knowing that he ran a very high risk of being killed during the confrontation. He had to get transported by air to the closest trauma center, which was about 70 miles away. Once there, he had to stay for several days for surgeries and x-rays to ensure that he was stable. He was released yesterday, a few days after the incident. He is going to be out of work for several weeks, which he can’t afford to miss because he is a landscaper by trade. He has a daughter who he has been paying for to go to college so she can have a better life. I’m hoping that as a community, we can come together to help him with his extensive medical bills. So far, I only know about the air transport which was $37,000. I’ve set the goal at $50,000 to provide for the hospital stay as well as everything that the hospital needed to do to him, and to be able to give a little back in lost wages that he desperately needs. If the amount raised is more than he needs, the money will be donated to a charitable organization that takes care of Americas heroes such as Operation Homefront or the Fisher House Foundation.
