Help Winky See Clearly Again!
Winky (ID #447227) is a handsome Mastiff mix who was picked up by AFV Animal Control after having apparently been hit by a car. When he was taken to the Emergency Vet for attention, they were thankfully able to say that any injuries from a potential hit-and-run are minimal and he is healing from those with plenty of rest and care, but they noticed he had severe Entropion in both of his eyes--this means that his eyelashes are growing back into his eyelids and causing him severe discomfort.
The treatment for Entropion is a surgery to remove the ingrown hairs and allow the eyelid to heal again before he can regain his vision. We have received quotes for his surgery starting at $695, but that is above and beyond what we would be able to pay for as a charity organization.
Animal Friends of the Valleys is a 501(c)(3) organization that depends on donations for support of programs that benefit lost and homeless animals in our valleys. Our Tax ID # is 33-0276892
