Hi friends!
What's up? My name is Varisha Patel, and I'm a senior attending Broad Run High School. I'm reaching out to you because I wanted to share my story with you. This year I decided to compete at the Virginia State DECA competition. For this competition I had to put in many hours of hard work, sweat and tears (literally). And in the end I actually placed 2nd in the whole STATE. I wrote and presented a 20 page business plan in front of a judge in a very professional setting. Now I have the opportunity to take my project to the national level and represent not only my school, but also the state of Virginia on a the biggest platform for DECA. This experience will not only allow me to really get excellent and unique exposure to the world of business, but it will also allow me to explore my potential major in college next year. It truly would be a dream come true. I have already started raising money on my own, like setting up bake sales, and Parents Night Out events; however, as you all probably know hotels and flights are not cheap.
