#100Books50Schools is one of the many ways FemSTEM.com plans on helping out Female Scientists as well as communicate science towards girls of all ages.
FemSTEM.com is a website run by Mariah Loeber, with the goal to get everyone talking about science. The website is aimed at girls and women of all ages, but can be enjoyed by anyone who wants to learn and get into science. Mariah has worked with several women scientists, interviewing them and getting their stories out there.
She has also worked with Melissa C. Marquez, a marine biologist known for starting the Fins United Initiative , who wrote several articles for FemSTEM on how to get started in STEM. (Check those out here .)

FemSTEM plans on raising money to buy and giveaway 100 books to 50 schools in the state of Georgia. These books are:
STEM Gems by Stephanie Epsy, who is a Chemical Engineer herself. This book tells the tales of 44 different modern women in various STEM fields.
Women in Science by Rachel Ignotofsky. Rachel is an illustrator as well as a science communicator. Her book talks about 50 women (mostly historical figures) who played a large role in science.
Both books are perfect for any age group.

Expenses:
Purchasing the books will be the the highest expense at approximately $2,077.
Shipping to schools is estimated to be $500.
The tax estimate is about $190.
And printing information for the schools will cost about $50.
In total that is approximately $2900.
Anything we raise over that will go towards any unforeseen expenses. If there's anything left over, we will give you updates on how we will use that money.
