For those of you, who know Tom; know that he is a free spirted, take the world by its balls kind of guy. Though life has thrown its fair share at him, he has chosen to live life to its fullest, and make the best out of every moment.  Whether he is traveling the world, following his dreams, or just trying to better himself, No matter where he was or what he was doing on his adventures, if you needed him, he would be there.

On March 5th, 2018 Tom was in a serious car accident.  He was found, un- responsive at the scene and med-flighted to Halifax Medical Center in Daytona. Due to the multiple life threatening injuries he sustained in the accident, the doctors did not give his family and friends much hope for recovery. His lungs had collapsed, ribs were broken, and his left side was crushed due to being thrown from the vehicle , if he did stay stable, chances were high that he would never be able to breath on his own again.

In true Tom fashion, he has defied all odds; he IS breathing on his own, has had multiple surgeries to repair his left leg, collarbone and shoulder. The doctors say he is a true miracle.

After months in the hospital, Tom is finally home, but still has a very long road ahead of him. Still unable to walk without assistance and just recently learning he will need to have his shoulder replaced. He remains positive and his outlook is amazing.  He just wants to get passed this and live his life.

That all being said, as you can imagine this is going to take a toll financially, and is already starting too. Hospital bills add up fast, and he will not be able to work again for quite some time. This go fund me has been started to try to alleviate some of the added (financial) stress of Toms recovery.

We thank you in advance and will keep you posted on his recovery.

It' a GO! The Specialist has agreed to a consult so my interpretation of that is that he, at the very least, has a plan to fix my shoulder (why else would he agree to the consult, right?!) While discussing my appointment they had me give a verbal agreement to have the surgery within 30 days of initial consult so I'll see him late Aug and surgery sometime in Sept? We'll see!!

OK... Here is some of the good news/bad news stuff... I recently went to the Ortho about my shoulder. The general prognosis was that my shoulder was still out of socket and it was possible that the ball of my humorus that slides into the socket may be dying and that could mean a complete shoulder replacement. A bit intense but a solution none the less. Good news: the ball and rotator cuff are still in tact... Bad news: There is a significant amount of ossification (bone growth due to calcification) which has pretty much welded my scapula and collar bone to my ribcage. Bad news: This situation is out of my Orthos wheel house. Good news: My Orytho tells me, and I quote "there is one doctor in Florida who may be crazy enough to take this on." So basically I am being referred to Floridas "Dr. House" LOL... Where there is breath, there is HOPE, right?!

Hey everyone,
Its Tom again. I recently tried a session of Cryotherapy (they froze me at -248 degrees for 3 minutes) I gotta say I was a bit skeptical but I woke up this morning feeling better than I have since the accident. (Mornings are especially tough on me) But I am willing to try and do whatever it takes to push through and get back to my regularly scheduled life
