Help Us Get to the Other Side

As a lot of you know, it's been a rough few months since I was let go by my former employer. With help from friends and some other sources we have mostly managed to keep our heads above water and keep things turned on...and I finally have a pretty good number of very positive job opportunities which I expect will have me once again gainfully employed very soon. We are also planning a big garage sale in collaboration with my aunt, who has a ton of stuff in her house she wants to get rid of. So that's all positive.

So I sincerely hope this is the last time I need to ask my friends to help out...but we're going to need to do it again, I'm afraid. Expenses both expected and unexpected (see Jenn's adventure in Kentucky from a couple of weeks ago) are building up pretty heavily, and while I really do expect to get past this unemployment thing very soon, we need to get from here to there and I'm going to ask my friends one more time to help out, as much as I hate doing so.

If you can help us get some things paid before things get too ugly, we would be eternally grateful.

Thank you.

I expect that one of these days I can post something totally positive...but this is not that week.

On the plus side, I have a couple of pretty promising interviews next week, and they are definitely not short-term contract jobs. So that's promising.

On the negative side, the short-term contract job that was supposed to start next Monday was pushed back another week, due to delays from Comcast, who are integral to the project. So that sucks a lot.

I want to once more express my deepest gratitude to everyone who has been able to throw anything at all our way during this (hopefully) final stretch...every little bit helps, of course.

Hoping next week is full of good news.

Thanks so much to everyone who has helped out so far with what we sincerely hope is the last one of these we need to do...it's going to be a rough month, but things should start getting a lot better in just a few weeks.

Hey there, everyone. Got some good news and some very not good news.

The good news: I managed to find a short-term contract that should last long enough to solidify one of the 3 much better opportunities that I'm in line for.

The very not good: My unemployment benefits are now exhausted, so between now and the first paycheck from the contract job we're pretty much completely out of income.

So...yeah. We really could use to see how this campaign goes, because it's all we're going to have - other than selling some stuff at our upcoming garage sale - until I get my first contract paycheck a few weeks from now.

In other words, we would really appreciate anything you all can help out with.

Thanks to all of you that continue to help out, and know that we really, really appreciate it.
