Sievling Lim’s struggling and needs help!
Sievling Lim and her husband Vathanak have had tragic events occur one after another this past year. They have two chronically ill children in and out of hospitals, and Sievling's mom is in critical condition in Vietnam. They need help to pay for her mother's care or she will die.
Sievling's mother, Eng Neang from Cambodia, was living with them and helping with the medical care of her grandchildren. While the infant was in the hospital with a life threatening condition, Eng went back to Cambodia to visit family. When she was walking down the street, she was suddenly hit by an erratic motorcycle rider, who left the scene.
Eng's brain was damaged from the severe impact and was in a coma. The doctors performed surgery and she needs another one. In Cambodia, one must pay cash for medical services. The family moved her to Vietnam for better medical care, yet can’t move her to the States due to her fragile condition.
Sievling and her husband must come up with more money to pay for her care or the Vietnam hospital will let her die. Without money, they will not continue to take care of Eng. Sievling and her family have borrowed $20,000 and are currently trying to sell their home. It doesn’t have much equity in it, but would be some money to put towards her Eng's medical bills.
Sievling is extremely close to her mother and loves her dearly. The stress is overwhelming, with caring for the two chronically ill children and worry about her mother. Sievling's son, Aiden, is a beautiful four year old boy, with a birth defect. He's already gone thru four grueling surgeries with very painful recoveries, and faces at least 2 more.
Her infant, Ethan, was recently rushed to the hospital when he stopped breathing. He was diagnosed with a condition that required a tracheotomy and was in the hospital for over a month. Medical costs for the children and for the grandmother are climbing daily.
Sievling and Vathnak are both working and taking extra shifts when able. It is so painful to know that money could mean life or death for her mother and the hospital is asking for it daily. Sievling doesn’t know how long the hospital will keep Eng alive if funds are not paid. Eng needs another surgery and money for her hospital stay. The money is needed immediately to keep Eng in the hospital.
